The U.S. Supreme Court decision expanding nexus to out-of-state online retailers continued to dominate the accounting news this week. Not to be outdone, David and I interviewed sales tax expert Mike Fleming to dig deeper into the ramifications of this ruling on the Cloud Accounting Podcast
It will be interesting to see if additional states adopt new sales tax legislation in July as a result of South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. If you have any insights or news that may be of interest to our readers in this regard, please hit reply and send it my way.
Speaking of July, this month I’m hosting two free CPE webinars, in which you’ll learn strategies as well as tips and tricks for streamlining your month-end close on two of the top cloud ERPs, NetSuite and Intacct:
Tuesday, July 17 at 11:00 am PT / 2:00 pm ET
David Cieslak, CPA and Chief Cloud Officer of RKL eSolutions, will share best practices for closing the books on Sage Intacct. You’ll also learn firsthand from NetSuite and FloQast customer Joe Stuckel, Assistant Controller at G2 Crowd.
Tuesday, July 24 at 11:00 am PT / 2:00 pm ET
Paul Clayton, VP Consulting Services at FMT Consultants, will share best practices for closing the books on NetSuite. Amy Vallandigham, VP Finance at Newport Group, will share the customer perspective.
