RPA is the new digital automation workforce

Good morning, accountants!
My top story in this issue all about RPA (Robotic Process Automation), the hot trend in corporate finance departments, especially big ones. But that is starting to spread down into midsized companies as well.
According to a special report from CFO.com, up to 30% of financial close rework is avoidable today using automation. And the cost savings may be large. Johanna Robinson, a practice leader at Gartner, tells CFO:
For an accounting team with the equivalent of 40 full-time employees at an average annual salary of $75,000, that would amount to about 25,000 hours and $900,000 wasted on work that could be automated, Robinson estimates. Our conversations with CFOs suggest that the real numbers could be twice that much.
